First Annual Special Needs Miss Sweetheart Pageant
Through a series of events that God clearly had his hand in, I had the honor of photographing these sweethearts at the First Annual Special Needs Miss Sweetheart Pageant, in Keller, Texas. You can see the entire gallery here.
The pageant was a benefit for Special Olympics; specifically, to help Colby Bannister raise money to help pay his way to compete in Greece. He is the only male gymnastics athlete selected from the state of Texas.
Please consider making a contribution to help Colby. Also, if you would like more information about how to participate or help with next year's pageant, please contact Rhonda Bannister: rbanni7478@sbcglobal.net

Some Lessons Are Tougher Than Others
I came across this photography blog today. This lady hits the nail on the head.
"Nothing hits a photographer’s confidence more than someone saying, “I don’t value your work enough to even pay you” . . . . even more detrimental when we say that to ourselves." ~Skye Edmonds

Congratulations, Cheri and Jeff!
There are several things I love about photography.
One is the connection to people. Getting to know someone better than I did before is fun. When I photograph someone, I always learn something about them that I didn't know before.
Like 'Cheri' was originally pronounced as 'Sherry'.
And Jeff always has something funny to say.
Another thing I love about photography: An accidental location find that makes my photography heart go pitter-patter. This shoot was done in one of those accidental finds. And it turned out perfect for these lovebirds.

I'm still working on editing, but here's what I've got so far. Enjoy!

I'm Published!
I'm so excited! Today was the release of Radical Love, authored by my friends Kimberly Parker and Donna Lowe. I got to travel to Canada back in June to take their photo for the back of the book.
What an awesome experience! I am so thankful to Kim and Donna for allowing me the honor of taking their photo.

The Other Side of The Camera
My daughter did an amazing job taking these photos.
It was awkward being on the other side of the camera though.
I love the way they turned out.
